Our Leadership Team Working for You
Bill Meissner President/Managing Partner
With the Ruppert Companies for 30 years, Bill along with partner Craig Ruppert founded Ruppert Properties in 2000. He is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the company including investment strategy, leasing, construction, property management and financial operations. Bill studied Business Administration at the University of Baltimore and received his certificate in Real Estate Finance and Development from MIT Center for Real Estate.
Kate Layman Vice President
Kate is responsible for leading Ruppert’s property management services division – Ruppert Management. She also contributes to the overall strategy and operations of Ruppert Properties. Kate received her Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Marketing from DePaul University and her Certificate in Real Estate Investment and Financing from Cornell University. She has served as Chair of the Board of Directors for Federated Charities of Frederick and as Co-Chair of Frederick’s Downtown Safety and Services Initiative.
Brennan McMeeken Chief Financial Officer
Brennan brings 15 years of commercial and residential real estate finance and accounting experience to Ruppert Properties. He is responsible for the company’s accounting and financial activities at both the property and asset level with a focus on financial reporting, investment analysis, lease administration and budget forecasting. Prior to joining the company, Brennan worked in finance and asset management roles for San Diego and Baltimore area developers. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from San Diego State University and Master of Business Administration from Frostburg State University.
Matthew Poffenbarger Vice President of Construction
Matt is responsible for the oversight and management of the company’s tenant fit-out, renovation, and ground-up construction projects. Prior to joining Ruppert, Matt worked in project management for Morgan Keller Construction and Forrester Construction. Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Geoscience from Pennsylvania State University.
Shawn Sullivan Chief Engineer
Shawn started his career in the HVAC trade, before transitioning to commercial property management where he worked for McShea Management and Avison Young – Washington DC for 15 years. There, Shawn served as Lead Engineer and was responsible for capital project supervision, energy efficiency programs, property preventive maintenance and general facilities management. With Ruppert, Shawn manages the engineering and maintenance team to deliver best practices in safety, maintenance and tenant satisfaction through the day-to-day operations of our facilities.
