Frederick, MD – Ruppert Properties is pleased to announce and welcome Kate Layman as the Director of Property Management. In the company’s newly formed position, Kate will be responsible for developing the property management team, contributing to best practices and introducing Ruppert to the industry as a leader in third-party property management services.
Kate brings with her more than 15 years of operations and real estate management experience, most recently with Avison Young – an international provider of commercial real estate services. At Avison Young she oversaw a diverse portfolio of approximately 1.5 million square feet of commercial property for national and local clients. In addition, she consulted on construction projects throughout their 10 million square foot regional portfolio.
With Kate’s hiring, Ruppert will now offer third-party commercial property management services to property owners, developers and investors in the region. “Ruppert has worked hard to assemble a team of top industry professional who are able to combine their experience with an unmatched knowledge and understanding of the local markets,” said Bill Meissner, President of Ruppert Properties. “We have made Frederick our home, and we are proud to have the opportunity to represent those who are investing here,” he said.
In addition to her hiring, Ms. Layman announced the addition of Shawn Sullivan to her team. Shawn joins Ruppert as Chief Engineer, bringing 20 years’ experience in providing engineering support and services to commercial real estate owners. As Chief Engineer he will oversee the engineering and maintenance team to ensure safety, maintenance and tenant satisfaction through the day-to-day operations of our facilities. “I could not be more pleased to have Shawn on our team.
